Memorial Day Weekend!

Thankfully, I am blessed with a boyfriend who loves to take pictures of every little moment of our lives :) It's actually really great because we will have those memories forever in picture form :) Although my sisters get pretty annoyed sometimes (I think they secretly love it like I do) it is really nice to look back on his phone or on facebook at all the great memories we've had together in the last 6 months.
This weekend we had a great time with friends and family- had a great breakfast at our friends new restaurant (See link here: Superchef Interview with WHAS11), went to an infamous family reunion....love those...haha, then had a great day on Green River Lake with Neal and the fam :)
Hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend, one extra day off work and a day of rememberance for all the men and women who have served to make our country what it is today!

So it has been a really long time since I've posted on here! I need to get better at this :) Or maybe I just need to do a "What happened this month" post for 2012, that is probably a more reasonable expectation!
Ok. So. I guess this can be entitled "APRIL LaTeLiEs" ........

a. My little sister got engaged! April Fools Day of all days! (Great pick Ryan....! haha) It was so special because all the siblings got to celebrate and be a part of the engagement!

So it's already March 14th! Where has this year gone?!
Luckily it's been spent doing some amazing things with the most amazing people, so I'm not complaining one bit :)

Latest news- my BEST friend is getting MARRIED in 10 days!! :) I'm so excited for her! And I will be reunited with my best friends who I haven't seen in way too long....

So I thought I'd document our last 5 years together through pictures.....

Valentine's Day was SO much fun :)
Definitely the best one that I have ever had, especially because the day was a huge surprise for me!
I had no idea what to expect.
Except....I did get a clue for weeks leading up to the big day.
Neal kept saying that I was going to the best, most romantic restaurant in the world:
BuRgEr KiNg! ha. Even said he had a booth reserved with candlelight and rose petals.

Luckily, he was bluffing ;)

Of course, I couldn't let him get away with all of his surprises! So I had a few of my own :)
My sister Abby and I decided that we were going to make something sweet and special for our boyfriends for Valentine's Day. SO we slaved in the kitchen and made delicious chocolate coconut brownie cupcakes!!

I brought them to his work @ 7:30am, he was SO surprised and happy! The look on his face was priceless :)

Then around lunchtime I got my first surprise, a beautiful bouquet of flowers!!

And even more pretty after they started blooming!

Then..........after a LONG day at work, I went home, changed and he picked me up at my house. Still didn't know where we were going......... (hint: guys, this is a good idea! Girls like to be surprised, even if they say they don't and want to know where they are going ;)

We had a lovely dinner at Revue (a great view of the Ohio River from the Galt House hotel in Louisville) and then went to this small pub/bar in downtown Louisville for a "Heart and Soul" night with 3 artists playing acoustic guitar! It was a great end to a fabulous day :) Very creative too! And to top it all off..............speaking of creative, he drew a picture of me and put it in a lovely frame! How sweet is that!

The great thing about love is, that it's not about the big things or what you can get out of the relationship. That's not love at all. Love is sacrificial, caring, kind, selfless. It's about the little things, the way that you give up your selfish needs for the needs of the one you love. In the way you tell them how much you love them and show that in your actions. And always remembering how blessed you are to have that person in your life :)
